Building Inspector Delays Opening
The Swiss Tattoo Museum Basel has encountered a legal setback and our planned opening in June will need to be moved forward. Although our internal planning was on schedule with cleaning, infrastructure repairs, painting, display construction and design, our efforts have been hampered somewhat.
On 27.04.2021 the location on the Steinentorstr 26A in Basel was visited by the city building inspector for a scheduled meeting to preview our project. The meeting was attended by the building inspector, the house management, Mario Rottweiler and Dave Holm to discuss the architectural plans currently on file with the city.
It seems that previously submitted building plans from 2013 did not include major renovations made in 2018, before we overtook the location. Due to architectural differences in the current location and city ordinances we are now required to submit new building plans to the Basel Building department.
We are working diligently together with the building management to see that new building plans and permits are approved as fast as possible. The building management company Gribi Real Estate is currently undertaking responsibility for all future architectural costs, electrical and plumbing installation.
The new Museum opening date now depends upon how fast we can submit new plans and receive approval from the different city building departments. We will be providing further updates soon in regards to when we can open our doors to the public.
On a positive note, the exhibition floor is very close to the final phase before we begin filling up the displays and add descriptive information to each object. Some painting, window decoration for the lower level and minor details on schedule and decoration beginning soon. Additionally, the rental contract begins now in August 2021 with stipulations in our favor.

Bauinspektor verzögert die Eröffnung
Das Schweizer Tattoo Museum Basel hat einen rechtlichen Rückschlag erlebt und unsere geplante Eröffnung im Juni muss verschoben werden.
Obwohl unsere interne Planung mit Reinigung, Reparatur der Infrastruktur, Lackierung, Konstruktion und Design der Displays im Zeitplan lag, wurden unsere Bemühungen etwas behindert.
Am 27.04.2021 wurde der Standort an der
Steinentorstr 26A in Basel vom Bauinspektor der Stadt zu einem geplanten Treffen besucht, um eine Vorschau auf unser Projekt zu erhalten.
An dem Treffen nahmen der Bauinspektor, die Hausverwaltung, Mario Rottweiler und Dave Holm teil, um die derzeit bei der Stadt hinterlegten Architekturpläne zu erörtern.
Es scheint, dass die zuvor eingereichten Baupläne aus dem Jahr 2013 keine größeren Renovierungsarbeiten aus dem Jahr 2018 enthielten, bevor wir den Standort übernahmen. Aufgrund architektonischer Unterschiede im aktuellen Standort und in den Stadtverordnungen müssen wir nun der Baubehörde Basel neue Baupläne vorlegen.
Wir arbeiten fleißig mit dem Gebäudemanagement zusammen, um sicherzustellen, dass neuen Baupläne und Genehmigungen so schnell wie möglich genehmigt werden.
Die Gebäudemanagementgesellschaft Gribi Real Estate übernimmt derzeit die Verantwortung für alle künftigen Architekturkosten sowie für die Installation von Elektro- und Sanitärinstallationen.
Der Eröffnungstermin des neuen Museums hängt nun davon ab, wie schnell wir neue Pläne einreichen und die Genehmigung der verschiedenen städtischen Bauabteilungen erhalten können. Wir werden in Kürze weitere Informationen darüber bereitstellen, wann wir unsere Türen für die Öffentlichkeit öffnen können.
Positiv ist zu vermerken, dass sich die Ausstellungsfläche kurz vor der Endphase befindet, bevor wir mit dem Auffüllen der Displays beginnen und jedem Objekt beschreibende Informationen hinzufügen.
Einige Gemälde, Fensterdekorationen für die untere Ebene und kleinere Details zu Zeitplan und Dekoration beginnen in Kürze.
Zusätzlich beginnt der Mietvertrag jetzt im August 2021 mit Bestimmungen zu unseren Gunsten.

L’inspecteur du bâtiment retarde l’ouverture
Le Musée suisse du tatouage de Bâle a connu un revers administratif et notre ouverture prévue en juin devra être retardée. Bien que notre planification interne se soit déroulée dans les délais prévus avec le nettoyage, la réparation des infrastructures, la peinture, la construction de présentoirs et la conception, nos efforts ont été quelque peu entravés.
Le 27.04.2021, le site de la
Steinentorstr 26A à Bâle a été visité par l’inspecteur en bâtiment de la ville pour une réunion prévue afin de prévisualiser notre projet. La réunion a été suivie par l’inspecteur en bâtiment, la direction de la maison, Mario Rottweiler et Dave Holm pour discuter des plans architecturaux actuellement en dossier avec la ville.
Il semble que les plans de construction précédemment soumis à partir de 2013 n’incluaient pas les rénovations majeures effectuées en 2018, avant que nous ne reprennions l’emplacement. En raison de différences entre les plans dont dispose la ville par rapport à l’état actuel du local, nous sommes maintenant tenus de soumettre les nouveaux plans de construction au département de la construction de Bâle.
Nous travaillons avec diligence avec la direction du bâtiment pour veiller à ce que les nouveaux plans et permis de construction soient approuvés le plus rapidement possible. La société de gestion immobilière Gribi Real Estate assume actuellement la responsabilité de tous les futurs coûts pour les travaux architecturaux, l’installation électrique et la plomberie.
La nouvelle date d’ouverture du musée dépend désormais de la rapidité avec laquelle nous pouvons soumettre de nouveaux plans et recevoir l’approbation des différents services de construction de la ville. Nous fournirons bientôt d’autres mises à jour quant à l’ouverture de nos portes au public.
Sur une note plus positive, le niveau où doit se tenir l’exposition est très proche de la phase finale, restant à remplir les présentoirs et étiqueter la collection. Quelques peintures, décoration des vitrines du niveau inférieur et quelques détails sur le calendrier et la décoration débuteront bientôt. De plus, le contrat de location prend effet en août 2021, avec des stipulations en notre faveur. Enfin, nous tenons à remercier tous ceux qui ont soutenu nos efforts, nos formidables bénévoles, ainsi que nos commanditaires locaux qui ont investi beaucoup de temps et d’énergie dans ce projet.
